I’m not a fan of Las Vegas. I don’t gamble…ok I did play the Glitter Kitty slots once. I hate cigarette smoke, and Vegas is still full of it. I really can’t stand the fake, wierd adult Disneyland vibe, but I secretly find it crazy amazing.
But I do love rust. I love old things. I love dilapidated, abandoned objects.
In other words I love the Sign Boneyard…now known as the Neon Museum.
Hundreds of old Vegas signs. All rotting in the desert sun.
So freaking amazing.
I took over 300 shots…and no, I’m not putting them all in this post. But you should go there if you are ever marooned in Las Vegas. You have to make a reservation and it’s a one hour tour. Totally worth it.
I totally adored it. I sure do love rust.
Anyway, while I was in Las Vegas, I also went to a huge bicycle trade show. I took no pictures. There are hundreds of websites to see all the new bikes. There were some super pretty ones.
But at the show, I did meet Carl.
He was the spokes dog for Cycle Dog. He was awesome. Too bad it was too hot for his amazing wardrobe. We got to see pictures. The Fiesta outfit was amazing.
I survived Las Vegas, had a great time, ate some amazing food (Jaleo, I love you), saw some old friends and was happy to be home after two days.
Art nerds…even if you aren’t staying at the Cosmopolitan, head down to the parking garage. Shepherd Fairey in the garage, you have to love Vegas for that at least.
